It is common to have pressure sensitive in-soles in the research field. But very few work is done investigating the pressure on the upper face of the shoe. Thanks to the pressure sensitive flexible SimpleSkin fabric, we were able to instrument the upper surface of soccer shoes to detect ball kicking events, and distinguish the kicking angle and intensity. This is carried in collaboration with Adidas and tested with a ball-kicking robot.
